About Mara
Awards
Mara is a multi award winning example of the breed with rosettes and certifications in multiple disciplines. Mara debuted at Crufts 2018, were she qualified for the Bronze Challenge Display team. She was part of 3 Good Citizen Ring Displays and successfully completed her Bronze Good Citizen Obedience examination in front of a live audience. She also filled in for a member of the Silver Display team in the Good Citizen Dog Ring too.
Mara was the second British Saluki to ever attain her Champion Trick Title, second only to her daughter Dahari and only the 5th Saluki in the world to ever hold the title. She is currently working towards her Grand Champion and Expert Master awards in Trick work.
Mara also regularly partakes in Obedience training and has successfully completed her Puppy foundation and Bronze Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog scheme awards, She also has rosettes from friendly competitions in this area and is working towards her silver award with ABC 4 Dogs Training Club. Apart from her obedience Mara does mostly canicross and has dozens of medals from canicross and endurance events from all over the United Kingdom. Mara has also attended a friendly Heelwork to music competition were she came fourth to her big sister Malika!
Mara is also a fully qualified registered PAT dog for Pets as Therapy and has performed her tricks for many wonderful audiences at the local care homes and residential homes.
Mara mainly concentrates her training on her Hoopers, which she really enjoys, she has completed her Hoopers Online Foundation, Bronze, and Silver Awards and is working towards her Gold. We are hoping to attend her first competitions in the sport this autumn.
Pedigree
Mara is a Fully KC Registered Fawn Grizzle Feathered Saluki with a 5 generation Pedigree from the UK Kennel Club.
Character
Mara is a gentle and quiet girl. Her favorite activity is Hoopers and her Pets as Therapy PAT visits at the local residential and nursing homes and Age UK Day Centre. She is a loving and sweet companion and loves to snuggle with her head on the pillow next to us.
